The capsule must be retrieved. CapsoCam stores every image inside the capsule — it does not transmit. If it is flushed or lost, the study is lost with it: a repeat anaesthetic.
Simethicone — office swallow: target ~375 mg — 5.6 mL of 40 mg/0.6 mL by 10-mL oral syringe, 30 min before ingestion. Never the bottle dropper, and never convert a strength by volume — anything that is not 40 mg/0.6 mL, stop and call.
Simethicone — any endoscopic deployment (EGD+capsule or EGD+colonoscopy+capsule): 333 mg (5 mL of 40 mg/0.6 mL), 30 min before anticipated procedure start. 80 mg (1.2 mL) is the secondary, when the child will not take the 5 mL. Notify anaesthesia for every dose.
